The Master of Philosophy (Social Science) programme is designed to cater students across a diverse range of disciplines in humanities and social sciences, namely Communication, English Language Studies, Psychology and many others. As such, the students’ researches often develop interdisciplinary perspectives in areas like Gender and Identity Studies, Education, Literary Studies, Cross-cultural Studies, Politics and etc. The programme also helps students to analyse concepts, definitions, arguments and problems. It contributes to students’ capacity to organise ideas and issues, to deal with questions of value and to extract what is essential from masses of information. In addition to that, the programme emphasises a clear formulation of ideas and problems, selection of relevant data and objective methods for assessing ideas and proposals. It also emphasises the development of a sense of new directions suggested by the hypotheses and questions one encounters in doing research.
