拉曼大学的中文学士课程将使学生掌握并对中国历史、文学、语言及文化有更深入的了解。除了理论性的知识外，学生们将取得会话、书写、研究、分析、评论的强实基础。选修课的范围则是大众传播、心理学及英文等。除此之外，此课程也囊括与马来西亚相关的课题，以便让学生们对马来西亚华人的历史有更深入的了解。
本系学士学位受马来西亚认证机构(MQA)和公共服务局(JPA)承认。 拥有18 位博士资格讲师, 4 位硕士资格讲师,目前为马来西亚师资队伍最完备,学生人数最多的中文系。
培养学生对本土、中国与世界华人文学、历史、思想与语言、文化等方面的掌握与了解,以及推动中华文化的传播与发展。
The Bachelor of Art (Hons) Chinese Studies programme produces graduates with an in-depth understanding of Chinese history, literature, language and culture. Besides theoretical knowledge, students would also acquire a strong foundation in practical skills in speech, writing, research, analysis and critique. The programme includes courses related to Malaysian studies and mass communication, keeping students abreast of the needs and development of the country.

Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM): Principal passes in 2 relevant subjects
GCE A-Level (Advanced Level): Grade D in 2 or 3 relevant subjects
Unified Examination Certificate (UEC): Grade B in 5 relevant subjects
South Australian Matriculation (SAM): ATAR 70 and Grade B in at least 2 relevant subjects
Canadian Pre-University (CPU): An average of 70% in 6 relevant subjects
